There is nothing better
Than to be in touch with the king
A place to be found
To kiss the ring

The door is open
Invitation clear
Just step right in
I would meet you here

Many who come
Find it hard to enter in
To leave behind
The burden of their sin

Yet the price is paid
Your covered in the blood
Just take my word
Be enfolded by my love

Life like a tunnel?

My son, my daughter
Its not for you to fear
Or worry on the earth
My promises are here
To always care for you
Place trust in what I do
My grace will see you through

Eternity

I won’t confess I’m on the edge of overload
For the promise is I won’t be tested beyond what I can bear
For a way will open up to me to pass on through
Unscathed and better for the fray

The Lord’s at work molding my humanity
His eye upon the ages I will see
I am locked in flesh and time and what I see
This life a wisp of all there is to be

There is so much more before us if we could see
Connectedness that flows in you to me
For God is life and life will find a way to be
And we will come to know eternity

How can I discover
The things in the way
To do’s pushing on me
That lengthen the day

I find it so easy
To other things do
Within the resistance
There must be a clue

The plan

Thank you Lord
For words of hope
That keep us going
Though we grope
That move us on
An unseen strand
Guided by your unseen hand

But now and then
We catch a glimpse
Of world changing thoughts
That do convince

We’re part of a larger plan
Guided by your hand
Bring restoration
To the land

Thinking about my latter years
Anxious over the poor preparation
Feeling behind the pace of time

Yet from the start
I’ve placed my trust
In the holy God
Deliver us
To save us from our own miss-steps
The important areas we’ve been inept

From early years I had the dream
To walk with God in plans unseen
To live in supernatural flow
Not bound by natural laws
And know – that all is well

With purity of heart went forth
Attending to what I’d been taught
Of trusting in the holy writ
Extremely loyal not to quit

Now looking back o’r many years
Having questions
Near to tears
Seeming little left behind
In contribution
Or work combined

So once again reach deep inside
Ask for wisdom from our guide
Not only for the way to go
But augment us with those who know
What’s needed to complete this show

Inkeling of things to come

On the horizon
The tip of a dream
The sum of all goodness
Can almost be seen

The bits come together
Making a whole
The good things I’ve dreamed of
Begin to unfold

The hand that is hidden
Is guided by love
The plan that’s unfolding
Ensured from above

Grant me understanding Lord
The nature of my being
How we are connected
In touch with things unseen

Created in your image
Placed upon the earth
With plans for many ages
Revealing your great worth

When I touch my heart, Lord
An organ of my soul
I sense we are together
Communion – being whole

How much of my action
Is really by your plan
What more may I do
To align with your unseen hand

There are things to say
To lift you up
To make your day
To edify
To make you strong
To meet your need
Know you belong

I’ve placed these gifts
Within the church
You carry them
Your give them worth
It’s up to you
To let them loose
Step out in faith
I’ll give you proof

Its up to you
To make a start
Obey the leading
Within your heart
I need your movement
To work my part
To free my gifts
Set me apart.

The "still small voice."

I’m in the world
If I believe there’s a plan
There must be a place
To apply my hand

The God of all things
Is efficient and kind
Effective and loving
Wise and sublime

Would he allow
His resources to waste
By withholding direction
When they are asking for grace

He has made us so different
In heart and in face
The skills that we have
Range all over the place

Deep inside
He gave us a voice
Connected to him
With the power of choice

Quiet it is
Can be lost to the din
But those who do heed it
Experience him

So get in the flow
Do pay the price
Acknowledge the knowing
Heed his advice.

A tangible thing
Knowing its real

And love and with light

Why are we here?
What is our worth?
Clear is the purpose
For life on the earth?

We look at our life
Examine our ways
Leaves many questions
For the ancient of days

What will you believe
As origin of all
An act of creation
Or a random atoll

I found a book
It serves me well
It tells of a story
Of heaven and hell

It gives me a way
To frame all there is
To put in perspective
Gives answers when quizzed

The rules of engagement
Are perfectly clear
Faith is required
For a functioning ear

Believing comes first
Before you can know
The truth in the book
The rules of the show

Things have changed and stayed the same

Been thinking about those of us, members of human kind, who have not yet encountered the God of goodness and love. While the average level of development of human kind has been increasing, the core question is still the same -- it just looks different because the methods of seeking the answer change wih level of development.


Adventure great
In time of old
When men were brave
And actions bold

Attribution
To their God
Superstition
Rule -- the rod

Things have changed
In many places
Still their brave
Show strong faces

Split they are
To source of strength
Is it themselves
Or God of rank

Does life go on
A random base
Or is their God
With plan in place

Is their one
Who knows it all
With good in mind
Restore from fall

Or is it just
A random thing
With no purpose
With no king

For those of us
Who’ve touched the one
A settled issue
Its become

For those of us
Who still reach out
He is faithful
Won’t leave us out

For true to heart
The message is
Find your purpose
Flow with his

Follow simply
The inner voice
True to you
Make that choice

Transformation
Will take place
For we will find
The place of grace

What focus for my time

Today, my coach kept bringing me back to "what is the most important issue (to be dealt with)." He suggested I mind map all the things going on in my life and interes, and look for a thread or an axel that tied it all together. It is interesting that I had done that listing last month. When I did, it presented itself as the following.

The Myriad of Things

Lord I come to you
King of all the earth
Make request of you
For wisdom on this earth

The myriad of things
A part of daily life
Pile up around
Suppressing peace and light

Yet deep inside I know
The plan you have is so
Complete and with a flow
That peace does overflow

Some have a natural way
To negotiate each day
And not be overcome
By the things that need be done

But they are very few
In this world of do and do
While the rest of us are blue
Beset with much to do

Where does the answer lie
Is it community or die
Find the place where each one fits
Determined by our gifts

It can’t be done by man
Must be the unseen hand
Where many move as one
And myriad gets done.
