To travel?

Am I to go
Around the world
To teach some stuff
Let others sail

Let them have
A knowledge base
Beyond some other
Work of grace

Lots going on

Many loose ends
What do I feel
How do I prepare
For days to be real

Age comes along
An end is for sure
What is right action
What life is in store

Pick up my pen
Words do come out
Stream of consciousness
To glory do shout

Not very smart
In the things of the world
Yet that’s where we live
Till ages unfurl

Exhorted to wisdom
As serpents on earth
Not being so wired
Can act like a jerk!

Why am I here
This question again
Something to do
But what and when

The more that I know
About what I can do
The more that I realize
Its not up to you

Sure there’s free will
Choices are ours
Yet how do we know
What’s writ in the stars

Do you fit?

It has continued to be a busy time. Here are two shorts that are likely prompted by circumstances.

Am I kidding my self
All out of place
Trying to do
What I really can’t face

Thinking I’m A
When I really am B
Pushing ahead
Perhaps I’m a C

Yet much that I do
Is really a fit
Rewarding to do
Worth every bit!

New years eve 2008

Had an interesting experience last evening. Eleven of us, and a bunch of kids, came together to share some of the ways God intersected our lives in the past year. As people were sharing some verses came to mind. As I would write the verses the content of the next speaker would aligned with the just written verses -- interesting.

Thank you Lord
For mercy and grace
Times of beauty
Find our place
Walk together
Hand in hand
Growing up
To know your plan

Not a solo
Place to be
But joined together
To be free

Your spirit dwells
Within our hearts
Showing us
The other parts

My spirit will
Show you the way
To walk in fullness
For today
In fullness of my
Perfect plan
Your part revealed
By gentle hand

I’ll bring you to
Your special place
Part of the larger
Work of grace

My body will
Behave as one
Needed for
The job be done

For in the end
All things will be
Brought together
Fully free

Show us Oh Lord
Our place to go
Your holy purpose
Not for show

Replace with truth
The things we think
Draw us higher
Make complete

A place for me

A little quirky for rhyme, but the message is fine :)

A place for me

How do I find the place I fit?
Its so complicated I want to quit.
Yet there is a place perfect for me.
Free to be who I’m created to be.
Free to do what I treasure most.
Free to know he’s the perfect host.

What I’m meant to be
will prosper me.
It’s the only way
that makes sense
to me.
The God I serve
is grand you see.
It only makes sense
that logically
He would have a place
that created me
Is a perfect fit
for his plan,
you see.

So its in his interest to get me in
To the place which creates a major win
That place which is good for me and him
So why stress I over this placement thing!
